An Event Worthy of Celebration

On November 11 and 12, friends, clients and business partners gathered together at Salon You in Belleville to celebrate the 50th year of service for Sal Longo. Sal is the owner of Salon You (located in Quinte Mall), as well as downtown Belleville's The Salon.
The entire event was overseen by Salon Director Erin Golloher, who arranged free product samples and demonstrations from Sharplight IPL, Pevonia, Kerastase, and L'Oreal Professionnel. GCS Founder Shane Price was also on hand at the event, and was asked to participate by spreading the word about sustainability to fellow guests and salon owners at the celebration. "I was really happy with all of the demonstrations - everybody did a great job of showcasing their products. We even had Green Circle Salons showing how a salon guest's hair gets made into oil booms, which are more effective than traditional booms for cleaning up oil spills."
In addition to free treatments and consultations, Salon You offered 15% off all retail product purchases for the entire weekend as a thank you to all of Sal's loyal customers over the last 5 decades. "The reason for doing this was to celebrate Sal's achievements. Sal likes to give back, and so we wanted to educate current and future clients about what we do."
Among the many festivities, salon staff also arranged a Saturday afternoon on-air segment with local radio station MIX97, so that different businesses associated with the Salon Group were able to discuss their relationships and experiences with Sal over the years.
"My favourite part was seeing it all come together", Erin tells us. "Over the two days, we were seeing tons of clients that we haven't seen in a while. People were coming in with wine and champagne for Sal, dropping of sweets and cakes and cupcakes. Everyone wanted to celebrate his achievements, and we were so happy to give back to his customers."
Congrats to Sal and the 70+ staff members from Salon Group Belleville!
